NOV 2007 - Department of Labour Employment Pull Research

The Department of Labour is aware of the skills shortages many New Zealand businesses are facing and wants to help address these.

This survey is an opportunity for you to offer feedback about your experiences and/ or concerns regarding recruiting overseas migrants. We are interested both in businesses who have not recruited overseas migrants before, as well as those that have.

Your feedback will help the Department of Labour to understand what it needs to do to fully support employers in recruiting overseas migrants with the best knowledge and skills to benefit the employer.

We have gathered your business contact details from industry databases. TNS Conversa, an independent research based consultancy, is carrying out this survey on behalf of the Department of Labour. This is to ensure that your responses will remain totally confidential.

The survey will take you approximately 20 minutes to complete. It will ask you about:

  • Your company
  • Recruitment both past and planned
  • Perceptions and/or experiences of recruiting overseas migrants
  • Barriers to recruiting overseas migrants, and ways the Department of Labour can address these barriers
  • Visas

We would like to thank you in advance for your time. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Chantelle Watt from TNS Conversa.
