NOV 2007 - New Zealand Business Woman Appointed as Communications Chair on International Communications Council

Rachel Richards, creative director at Vendita, has just been appointed as Communications Chair on the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Asia Pacific Region Council.

As the only New Zealand council member, Rachel is excited about the role.

“It’s a great opportunity to show off the incredible work that the New Zealand marketing and communications community is doing, as well as learn about industry trends of other countries in the Asia Pacific region,” says Rachel.

Rachel has worked in marketing and communications in a variety of industries throughout New Zealand, Sydney and London.  She now runs her own marketing and communications company, Vendita.

Founded in 1970, the IABC provides a professional network of more than 14,000 business communication professionals in over 70 countries.  It enables communicators working in diverse industries and disciplines to identify, share and apply the world's most effective communication practices.

The Asia Pacific Region is the second largest outside of North America and has chapters in Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Bangkok, India and New Zealand.  There are also members in Japan, Pakistan, China, Indonesia, Korea, and Singapore.
