MAR 2008 - Fresh Team to Drive APN Outdoor

Outdoor media specialist APN Outdoor has appointed a new senior management team to add fresh drive to its roadside and transit advertising products.

Former Deltarg General Manager Phil Clemas has been recruited to fill the vacant General Manager’s seat at APN Outdoor and he has appointed former Deltarg colleague Greg Radford as APN Outdoor Sales Director.

The GM role at APN Outdoor had been vacant since late last year but Mr Clemas said he and Mr Radford were now concentrating on talking to clients and aiming to broaden APN Outdoor’s approach and bed in the recently consolidated APN Outdoor brand in New Zealand.

“The first task Greg and I set ourselves was to get out and meet our clients and discuss their wants and needs to develop more relevant and useful outdoor solutions. At the same time we’ve been asking all our staff for their ideas on the business.

“This important first step to revitalising our business should be completed within a few weeks and we want to establish what are the concerns and hot buttons for clients,” said Mr Clemas. “We’re really aiming to sort out any potential roadblocks and make sure we are meeting their needs with our offer.

“Business is personal and relationships built upon trust are paramount. We believe this is critical for consolidating our position as the market leader in the eyes of our clients.”

“What we are aiming to establish is how we can freshen our offer to make sure we are a fast responder and give our clients the quality and the delivery of results they want from their outdoor campaigns.”

“It’s an advantage working with Greg again as we know instinctively what we want and how to deliver that to our clients. We’re also fortunate to have inherited a very good team at APN Outdoor to work with.”

Mr Clemas said that with more than 20 years experience in media and delivering highly effective campaigns he expected APN Outdoor to grow steadily over the next three years. That growth would be driven mainly by improved quality of inventory, improved service, new product packaging, innovative thinking and ultimately results for our clients.
