JUN 2008 - Yahoo!Xtra Participates in Nielsen Online's New Zealand Industry Audit Service

Auckland, 6 June 2008 - Nielsen Online, a service of The Nielsen Company, announced today that internet audience traffic to the Yahoo!Xtra website commenced reporting on its New Zealand Market Intelligence service from 1st June 2008. Nielsen Online’s Market Intelligence is New Zealand’s internet industry-supported audience measurement auditing service.

“Yahoo!Xtra’s decision to be audited by Nielsen Online will allow agencies, publishers and other participants in the local internet market to identify the volumes, characteristics and behavioural patterns of the Yahoo!Xtra online audience,” said Ivan Fuyala, Commercial Director of Nielsen Online New Zealand. “With the massive growth we are seeing in online advertising spend, delivering robust data to satisfy marketing professionals and agency requirements is critical.”

“New Zealand Market Intelligence allows participating publishers and advertising agencies to rank websites by key online metrics overlayed with demographic information of the site visitors,” continued Fuyula. “Yahoo!Xtra’s inclusion increases the value proposition for everyone involved and is something that many in the industry have been looking forward to. It will also greatly benefit Yahoo!Xtra to now be measured on a level playing field with other local players through industry supported methodology.”

Kevin Bowler CEO of Yahoo!Xtra is also positive about the strategic move “as one of New Zealanders’ favourite web sites, we are very pleased to be represented in the data that most agencies use to plan advertising campaigns”.
