MAR 2009 - Pimp My Paper Winners – The People Have Spoken

The votes are in, and the people’s choice is clear! The overall winner of the Spicers Paper Pimp My Paper competition is ‘Sauce-Bot’, the customised Cardbot by Ella Gunness, creative director at Parnell design agency Spook. Runner-up is ‘King-Bot’ by Akriti Malhotra from PMP Maxum in Viaduct Harbour, Auckland; third is ‘Gorilla-Bot’ by John Morris from Communication Arts in Wellington; and following closely behind in fourth place is ‘Cow-Bot’ by Jason Povey from Calders Design and Print in Whangarei.

For their troubles, Ella wins a MAC Book Air and Akriti, John and Jason each win an iPod Nano. But perhaps most rewarding, all four winning Cardbots will be printed according to each winner’s specifications and everyone involved in the competition will receive one of these limited-edition creations. Plus look out for an insert in the next issue of ProDesign.

Spicers Paper Marketing Manager Carolyn Lockstone says organisers were overwhelmed by the massive response to the promotion with more than 1,200 votes and 100 entries received, and would like to thank all those who took part.

If you’re keen to get your hands on a CardBot, it’s not too late. Anyone requesting a specialty paper sample from Spicers Paper over the next few months will also get a winning Bot.
