APR 2009 - Tango Think Brick Wizard Gets Webby Awards Nod

Leading Australasian Digital Agency Tango has been nominated for a Webby Award in the Associations category for its work on Designing for Climate for Think Brick Australia.  The Webby Awards, now in their 13th year, are more colloquially known as “The Internet Oscars”.

Tango’s work involved the creation of an online interactive wizard that helps architects, designers, builders and homeowners to access and use decades  of climatic data in the design and construction of sustainable buildings.

The Climate Design Wizard was an instant success.  It helped Think Brick Australia to reinforce an emerging approach to design, by delivering scientific data in an easy to understand and interactive tool.

Think Brick Australia’s CEO Linda Ginger commented on the news of the nomination, “We’re thrilled that we’ve been able to convert such complex data into a format that is accessible and intuitive.  This wouldn’t have been possible without the leadership and strategic thinking Tango provided”.

Tango MD Boyd Wason said “It’s brilliant to be nominated for such prestigious global awards. The Webbys typically see 10,000 entries a year, and to be in the final 5 feels great”.

The Webby Awards

The Webby awards are the leading international awards for excellence on the Internet, covering four main areas: Websites, interactive advertising, online film and video and mobile websites.

Tango’s work is also up for an award in the People’s Favourite category, where a winner is awarded based on votes from members of the public rather than a panel of judges. Voting is open until April 30th, with members of the public able to have their say by clicking here.

The Webby winners will be announced on May 5th, 2009.
