New Zealand Post is dubbing 1 July ‘Postcode Day’, as it becomes mandatory for high volume mailers wanting to maximise bulk mail discounts to include correct postcodes and addresses on their mail.
New postcodes were introduced in June 2006, and 28% of mail currently carries the correct codes. That’s well below the over 90% correct postcode use in countries like England and Australia.
Postal Services Chief Executive Peter Fenton, says the first priority has been getting business and other high volume mailers to adopt the codes.

New Data Transfer Standards

Single key encryption, password protection, file transfer protocol’s – you may have heard these terms but perhaps you aren’t familiar with exactly what they are all about?
Transfer of data from one location to another happens everyday within organisations. To assist businesses with the secure transfer of data the Marketing Association’s Data Advisory Network (DAN) have just completed a set of recommended Data Transfer Standards. You will find them easy to follow and they will no doubt challenge you to consider your own internal practices.

Launch of a Ground Breaking New Initiative to Assure Top Quality Marketing Data

The Data Advisory Network has recently launched an exciting new initiative, the List Warranty Register. The List Warranty Register is an assurance by List Owners that they are compiling, using and/or maintaining lists in a fashion that is compliant with the Privacy Act 1993, particularly name suppression, and the Marketing Association's Codes of Practice and Best Practice Guidelines.
