Who should apply?
Regarded as a key asset, customer and prospect data is now at the very core of most businesses. The proliferation of media channels means it is more important than ever to collect, store, manage and use data about identifiable individuals professionally, legally and ethically and to be seen to be doing just that.
All businesses collecting, storing and using personal data for marketing purposes, whether B2C or B2B, are encouraged to apply for the Trustmark. This includes:
- Organisations who hold personal details about customers and prospects;
- Organisations making their consumer database available for rent or sale; and
- Data providers and data enrichment service providers trading in the New Zealand marketplace.
Data provider members of the Marketing Association are required, as a condition of their membership, to become Data Warranted.
